Projects are individually quoted depending on your needs. This is a guideline of our fees and the process once you have engaged our services.
DECORATING AND DESIGN
1. INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION - $170.00 + GST
- Our initial site visit begins with a 1 hour consultation to discuss your vision, requirements, style and timeframe. This fee is payable at the time of the consult by cash or credit card. If the meeting runs beyond an hour this will be calculated at the time at the same rate. The initial meeting can often be a very productive exercise in sharing ideas and creating a priority wish list for you.
- Travel time will be charged if you live 25kms beyond the city at a rate of $50.00 an hour and weekend rates will be charged at $250.00 + gst per hour.
2. ENGAGEMENT - $200.00 + GST per hour
OR AN ESTIMATED TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS
- Once you have formally engaged our decorating and design services our rate is $200.00 + GST per hour.
- If you would prefer a guideline as to the total number of hours required and hence an estimate of our overall fee, this can also be provided. If we exceed this estimate due to the scope of the project increasing, you will be formally notified by email. Equally, you will not be charged if the decorating and design process is completed earlier and doesn’t reach the estimated cost.
- An accurate measure is each room requires approximately 6-8 hours to source, cost, order and install if it’s a blank canvas. If it is simply adding finishing touches 3-4 per room is usually necessary. The scope of work includes visiting showrooms, correspondence, images and costings.
1. INITIAL INSPECTION AND QUOTE - NO CHARGE
- We are happy to visit your property and compile a list of recommendations and inventory to optimism the sale of your home. A quote will then be formally sent to you outlining the costs, period of rental, suggested trades and timeframe for your consideration. You can expect to receive this within a 48 hour period of our inspection.
- Each project is individually quoted depending on what is needed to achieve an excellent result. Other options you may wish to consider such as our concierge service, window cleaning and various other recommendations are quoted separately.
Once formally engaged, we issue you with an invoice which we request is paid prior to installation. At FM Interiors a standard contract of hire runs for a 6 weeks period. We offer our clients a package for 4 weeks, plus 2 weeks free.
If the property is to be ready and styled within a 7 day period, 100% payment is required. Beyond that a 50% deposit is requested prior to installation and the remaining payment is due the day prior to installation. Cancellation fees will be charged if FM Interiors is not given 48 hours’ notice of any changes.
OPTIONSONGOING RENTAL OR OPTION TO PURCHASE
- In the unlikely event your property doesn’t sell, this will be charged at a weekly rate or as another 6 week block, depending on your preference. This cost is calculated on the 4 week rental period.
- All of our styling items are for sale and you have the option of purchasing individual pieces or the entire package at the end of the contract.

BLOOMS AND CONCIERGE
In addition to our decorating, design and property styling we offer a concierge service which includes fresh flower arrangements, a spruce of your home and light cleaning if necessary. This is charged at $250.00 per visit, plus gst and includes blooms, arrangements and vase hire. This service is completed prior to your home being open for inspection.
As most projects vary, this will be quoted and agreed upon per job after accessing the scope of works necessary.
